The Suzhou High-quality Tourism Development Conference and the 13th Suzhou Creative & Design Cultural Industry Expo (CCDE) opened at the Suzhou International Expo Centre on October 18.
Under the theme of "International Trends, Jiangnan Aesthetics, Innovative Creations," the 2024 edition has attracted nearly 300 exhibitors from over 50 countries and regions. With an area of 30,000 square meters, the expo displays almost 20,000 pieces of cultural products. The event will last through tomorrow.
The opening ceremony witnessed the signing of 17 key cultural tourism projects with a total investment of more than 7 billion yuan, covering various sectors including hotels, digital culture, and smart culture and tourism, among others. Representatives from top domestic travel agencies and foreign tourism enterprises signed cooperation agreements with the Suzhou Culture and Tourism Federation.The cultural feast attracted professional exhibitors, buyers, and audiences. The expo is a testament to Suzhou's world-renewed reputation as a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art and the World Heritage Model City. It featured numerous exhibitions in such fields as fashion design, intangible cultural heritage, innovation, and Chinese brands. The iSuzhou International Cultural Creative Product Fair also debuted at the expo, attracting hordes of passers-by.
Revolving around immersive experience, digital innovation, and young targets, the debut of the country's first "Cultural Museum Plush Toy Supermarket," which sheds light on top-notch domestic museums, garnered wide attention. Featuring toys resembling the Bronze Galloping Horse statue from the Gansu Provincial Museum, Suzhou Museum's sword-shaped toys, and cultural creative products of the Egyptian exhibition shown at the Shanghai Museum, the expo has made the enjoyment of cultural life real and clear.
This year's CCDE highlights the prowess of technology, bringing an abundance of immersive new scenarios spawned by new quality productive forces in the cultural sector. For example, the magical wonderland of Suzhou's Tiger Hill and the immersive China-Chic theater featuring legends of the Tang dynasty made visitors travel between the past and future.
