HL Klemove, a South Korea-based expert in autonomous driving and mobility areas, broke ground for its second factory in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province, on Oct 26.

The new facility is expected to manufacture high-end electronic products for intelligent vehicles and supporting products for new energy vehicles.

With over 1,900 employees worldwide, HL Klemove has four factories and nine research and development centers to serve its main businesses in unmanned driving, automotive electronics, and mobile platforms.

It set up a wholly-owned subsidiary, HL Klemove Electronics (Suzhou) Co, in the district in 2011 to focus on the R&D and production of automotive chassis electronics and sensor technologies.

Over the years, the Suzhou subsidiary has been seeking upgrading and transformation through expanding its factory and building a technology R&D center.

SND has stuck to high-level opening up. Over the past three years, 35 foreign-invested headquarters were added to the district, bringing the total number to 80. The district has also made efforts to build a complete auto industrial chain and is currently home to 120 auto-related enterprises.
